Coming off a World Series appearance in 2012, the Detroit Tigers wanted to refresh the look of its tickets and promotional items, but were reluctant to push it too far after an extremely successful season.
Keeping this in mind, we created a cohesive set of materials that are clean and modern, but also reminiscent of the past. Using lines and grids to feel like an old baseball scoreboard, hashes to feel like baseball stitching, and a thread of gold as a nod to Cabrera winning the Triple Crown in 2012, the materials were the perfect blend of old and new.
Results: The tickets and promotional items were fit for a winning team and were extremely well received. Additionally, Tigers’ attendance continued to increase in 2013, with the team hitting their second highest attendance record in more than 100 years.
